most probably.
...I might have de-sensitized myself or something...
I used to love going to huanted houses around Halloween, and while I wouldn't say they ever actually, literally "scared" me past the age of 7 or so, they could still at least make me jump sometimes, and get the blood racing, you know?
Now its just kinda...meh. I went through one last year and kept wondering if they had followed OSHA standards when building this weird scaffold inside. At another one, I was just pissed because I had to walk through half the fucking thing bent nearly double, because I was too tall for all these "tunnels" and crap they tried to build.
So...are the houses weaker, or is it normal for a person who is, otherwise, a Halloween fanatic to just get bored with it...?
most probably.

If you are talking about the ones on fairs, no. If you are talking about a strange old house in the middle of nowhere, late night, no lights, well, that is a bit different.......
Even if ghost don't exist, your imagination will make your senses like Daredevil.....
they don't do anything for me. Especially since they just aren't haunted houses anymore. there's no mood. Just walk along to the next "gory" display and wait for someone to jump out at ya...
Also, the themes are too modern usually. Freddy and Jason and that kinda shit...
Well, around here you can still find good "generic" haunted houses that don't just recycle whatever horror flicks came out that year. But not even those "do" anything for me. They aren't "bad", mind you...they just don't really interest me. I can't enjoy them.
Now creeping around empty, old, abandoned houses and buildings...love that.
Did I ever tell you boys the story of when Big Daddy accidently went to one of those religious haunted houses...?

BTW, there is a famous haunted house outside the city. It was an old place where they used to have slaves. Its so creepy because you also have to walk 3 miles in the woods to get there as there are no roads.....
DA in a xtian haunted house? Ohhh, do tell!

there is one here in Ohio that is in an abandon state correctional facility...more-so in the psyche ward. there is one portion where u walk thru the med-bay and its full of gurnies, old medical equipment, and cobwebs. i honestly dont think its staged or proped...i think thats how they left it. it will run a shiver down your spine like nothing else...
...then u enter another room and a 17 yr old kid in pisspoor zombie make-up jumps out at you. end fun.
